Outreach: Trinity Cares. . . Pass it on!!

Jesus tells us to love the Lord our God with
all our heart, soul and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Jesus
also says that these are the greatest commandments upon which ALL the
law and prophets hang. Pretty important "stuff." Jesus tells
us who our neighbor is in the story of the Good Samaritan. At the end
of the story, Jesus says, "Go and do likewise." The Outreach
Committee is about "going and doing likewise." Trinity has committed
15% of its pledges for Outreach, as well as an endowment fund. The money
is just a tool; to go and do likewise, we must give of ourselves to others.
We are always looking for volunteers. Here
are some of the projects we have going this year:
- Christmas Angels Christmas gifts and
food for needy families .
- Adult Literacy this project is pretty
self-explanatory.
- Habitat for Humanity allows low-income
families to purchase a home.
- Partners in Education helps the various
local schools with special projects.
- Aid to Inmate Mothers to strengthen
the relationship between children and mothers who are in prison.
- Adullam House a boarding school in Elmore
County for children whose parents are in prison. Red Cross
- Samaritans Purse shoeboxes full of
goodies for needy children, the world over, for Christmas.
- Canterbury Courts an apartment complex
for elderly residents.
- Lakeside Ministry ecumenical services
held by the lake coordinated by Trinity during the summer.
- Relay For Life raises money for the
Cancer society.
- Montgomery Foodbank feeds the needy
in the tri-county area.
- Kairos teams go into the prisons and
tell about the love of Jesus Christ.
